Richmond continued its winning ways against St Kilda in Round 2, with the fast starting Tigers getting home by 26 points to start the season 2-0.

In at times wet conditions, the Tigers never looked in doubt of losing despite a quiet last term, eventually recording a 14.11 (95) to 9.15 (69) victory.

Unassuming key forward Stuart Edwards was everywhere, particularly early for the Tigers, proving to be a high-quality third banana behind the 100-gamer Brendan Gale and Matthew Richardson.

A fantastic 40m snap on his left foot was the highlight of the day from Edwards, and despite that being his only goal for the day, he had a hand in multiple others and was unlucky not to kick another three or four.

But it was the young prodigy Richardson who was able to make the most damage on the scoreboard. Richardson finished with six goals straight, giving the Saints defenders the run around doing as he pleased around the ground.

Never far away from the feet of the big men, Chris Naish was also as dangerous as ever, kicking four goals to go along with his 15 disposals to showcase the versatility and multi faceted nature of the Richmond forward line.

The mulleted Scotty Turner was also one of Richmond's best, completely blanketing the likes of Stewart Loewe down back who had an absolute shocker. Turner's intercept and spoiling work was a particular highlight, and helped the Tigers make the game a foregone conclusion by halftime.

The game also featured the debut of David Bourke, son of Richmond champion Francis, who was thoroughly impressive. Playing mainly across half-back, Bourke showed poise beyond his years, even in the slippery conditions, and looked every bit a key part of Richmond's future.

For the second week in a row Matthew Knights was terrific with the way he was able to use the footy, while Wayne Campbell was the most prolific with 28 disposals.
