A Fighting Fury player ratings - explained

While on this journey of discovering and re-discovering Richmond games from the past, I wanted a way to accurately record and review my thoughts from each and every game.

I didn't want to just use raw stats that are already available, or SuperCoach points or anything like that, so what I've done is keep things incredibly simple:

Everytime a Richmond player does something very good, I give them a point. Truly groundbreaking stuff!

The nuance to it, is that for a point to be given, something has to be done that's particularly good. For instance, a short-medium kick to someone wide open on their own would not equate to receiving a point, but a lace out kick that gives a teammate the ability to mark comfortably against an opponent, would receive a point.

Similarly, acts that don't always result in a 'stat', such as a great smother or an effective spoil over the boundary line, will also be awarded with a point.

The points are then compiled at the end of the game and help me with writing up my thoughts, and doing end of year recaps, highlighting career best games, and so forth.
