Richmond have suffered their biggest defeat in quite some time, going down by 95 points to a rampaging North Melbourne side at the MCG.

The Kangaroos kicked 12 goals to 2 in the 2nd and 3rd quarters to open up the big lead, on the way to a 21.15 (141) to 7.4 (46) victory.

It was a rude awakening for the then 3-1 Tigers, who were never really in the contest with the Roos extending their advantage out with each quarter that passed.

What made the loss even worse to wear was that the Kangaroos were missing their inspirational leader Wayne Carey.

The Tigers didn't have tall timber Justin Charles and Brendon Gale to make the most of the King's absence, but the way that North Melbourne played it wouldn't have made much difference, as they ran all over their opposition.

There weren't many highlights for the Tigers in this one, although Ben Harrison booting his first 2 career goals was at least something that the Richmond fans could enjoy to watch.

Joel Bowden was one Tiger who could hold his head up high, kicking 3 of his side's 7 goals while picking up 17 disposals in the process, to go along with 7 marks.

Paul Broderick, Ben Harrison and Darren Gaspar were also ok, but there were too few contributors on the park for the Tigers on this day.
