Richmond has hung on for dear life to beat Fremantle for the second time in 1995, in quite similar circumstances to their Round 1 clash.

The Dockers led for most of the contest, and got out to a lead of 23 points just before halftime, but the Tigers roared home to narrowly win 10.14 (74) to 9.13 (67)

The win solidified Richmond into second place on the ladder as the competition began to hit the home stretch, with the Tigers depth continuing to stand up despite the litany of injuries on the list.

It was Chris Naish's 100th AFL game, and second gamer Jason Torney saluted him with a clever dribble goal from the pocket to kick start the Tigers day, a piece of play that the goalsneak would have been proud of. That goal was Torney's first in the AFL.

Fremantle actually lead at every quarter break, and when Mark Neeld was stretchered off after a big hit late in the third, the Tigers looked like they were just lacking the momentum necessary to overcome the home crowd noise for the Dockers.

Enter Wayne Campbell, the gun midfielder was tremendous in the final quarter, highlighted by his smother and goal in the forward pocket which lifted his side. He finished with 32 disposals and 10 marks in an all-round dominant display.

He was well-supported by running mate Matthew Knights, who hit the scoreboard with a pair of nice goals to go along with his 25 disposals.

Richmond fought hard late in the quarter to prevent Freo who had many chances late to hit the scoreboard, that was at least until some undisciplined play from Paul Bulluss gave the Dockers a 50m penalty and an easy shot on goal to level the scores with around five minutes to play.

Almost like he had something to prove, Bulluss stood up not a minute later, taking a strong mark about 45m out directly in front, and kicking what would turn out to be the winning goal for his side in an ironic turnaround. The Tigers from there held on by 7 points, yet another thriller where they walked away with the four points.

For Richmond, Chris Bond was his usual consistent self with 16 disposals and putting his head and body over the ball constantly, leading him to winning four free kicks after copping some attention from his Freo opponents.

Brendon Gale was also one of Richmond's best, mimicking what he did in the Round 1 meeting between the two clubs and providing to be a strong target to kick to up forward. He took seven marks to go along with his 11 disposals and a goal.
