AFLW Round 3, 2020 - Richmond vs North Melbourne

North Melbourne has taught Richmond a footballing lesson, outplaying them by 56 points at IKON Park in Round 3.

The Roos were never really challenged as their star power took hold of the Tigers, winning 12.4 (76) to 2.8 (20).

The Tigers took it up to their stronger counterparts early, getting plenty of looks forward of centre but were just unable to capitalise.

Conversely, their more experienced opponents looked like the better drilled team with more structure around their game plan, and methodically picked Richmond apart with ball in hand.

Richmond were goalless at the halftime break, and while they were able to momentarily break even with North Melbourne in the third quarter, some squandered opportunities, similar to the week prior, ultimately led to their demise.

Mon Conti was far and away Richmond's best, picking up 18 disposals and laying six tackles in an all-round strong effort across four quarters.

Grace Campbell gave the Tigers are spark early on in the game, and while she faded a little as the game wore on, her tackling pressure was immense and would have won over the coaching staff. She finished with 11 disposals and 10 tackles.

While Christina Bernardi wasn't perhaps as busy as she was a week earlier against the Suns, everytime she did get the footy something good came from it, so the coaches really need to find a way to get her involved more.

Gabby Seymour did a good job both in defence and pinch hitting in the ruck, where she actually recorded the most hit outs for the game with 13.

Sabrina Frederick added to her goal tally with an amazing over the head goal from a ruck contest in the third term, and took some strong contested marks throughout.

Courtney Wakefield presented well and took some nice marks, but unfortunately didn't get reward for effort on the scoreboard.
